The Conference

Seven months of collaboration, driven by VicUrban (now Places Victoria) and its partners, ensured the Conference took the place making debate to the next level, using the consolidated thoughts and ideas already discussed as a platform to explore the subject on a deeper level.

The Conference brought together around 220 people from across Australia to hear from, and engage with, over 35 international and national place making professionals.

Presentations, panels and workshops were held at Federation Square, Melbourne Town Hall, Melbourne Cricket Ground and the Grand Hyatt – showcasing some of Melbourne’s great places.

The Conference culminated in an interactive session with all delegates contributing to a shared statement of practice to ensure the place making movement and principles continue to be developed and implemented.

A summary of the outcomes will be published here in the coming weeks – stayed tuned as the journey continues.
